About the Dentist
Dr.
Robert J. Garofalo brings commitment to both clinical excellence
and patient comfort to his practice. He is a 1995 graduate of
New York University Dental School where he earned Doctor of
Dental Surgery degree. After dental school, he continued his
training with a intense year long hospital residency at North
Shore University Hospital in Manhassett, Long Island.
Dr. Garofalo has been recognized by his fellow dentists by
receiving 'Fellowship' status into the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Garofalo is certified in Invisalign Orthodontics
Dr. Garofalo's most recent accomplishment was becoming certified
to use the Invisalign system of clear orthodontia. This is a
wonderful option for teen and adult patients who want to refine
the look of their front teeth and be able to smile during treatment
as well as afterwards. Dr. Garofalo also works with several
excellent local orthodontists on more extensive cases.
About the Academy of General Dentistry
General dentists do not specialize in any one facet of dentistry.
According to the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow in the
Academy "has been recognized by other dentists as a leader
who is committed to quality patient care through continuing
dental education." An FAGD dentist must earn a minimum
of 500 approved continuing dental education credits and pass
a comprehensive 400-question examination; s/he must also be
an Academy of General Dentistry member for five continuous years.
