Our Services
We
offer a variety of restorative and preventative dental services,
each designed to extend the life of your teeth and total dental
health, and contributing to your physical comfort, outer appearance
and inner confidence. We believe that you can keep your teeth
for the rest of your life and we recommend to our patients treatment
which we would want for ourselves and our families.
We are proud to offer our patients the latest techniques. Dr.
Garofalo and the entire staff attend continuing education courses
frequently to make sure we are up to date in our clinical techniques,
infection control standards, and dental materials and equipment.
Some of our updates are tooth colored filling materials, "drill-less"
fillings, and an intra-oral camera to allow you and the doctor
to see your teeth up close.

Micro-Abrasion Dentistry is here!
One of the latest advances in dentistry has been the use
of micro-abrasion.
Micro-abrasion can't replace traditional instruments for some
procedures, but gives us one more tool to make dental treatment
more comfortable for the patient.
.
Especially without using needles!
Children
We welcome your children to our practice! Dr. Garofalo has extensive
experience in treating children. He and his assistants will
make sure that your children's visits are comfortable, non-threatening
and even fun. We have a VCR so children can even watch a movie
during their visit. Bring your favorite one!!
We emphasize prevention for our young patients. We'll take
the time to make sure that your child's home care is effective.
Highly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces
of your chewing teeth, sealants are a simple
procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic "coating"
is painted onto the biting surface of the tooth. This effectively
"seals" the deep grooves where decay is most likely
to start. It is especially effective on newly erupted teeth
in children.
Patient Comfort
You are not alone if you feel anxious about a visit to the dentist.
We understand, and will strive to make every dental visit a
comfortable one. Our entire staff is especially talented at
making the very nervous patient feel comfortable. Our motto
is "nothing should hurt" and modern techniques make
it possible. We are especially proud of how many former dental
"scaredy cats" are now enthusiastic patients. We welcome
'dental phobics' to our practice, and take special
care to ensure that their experiences are positive.
Patient Safety
To protect our patients and ourselves, our staff members wear
masks, gloves, glasses as well as utilize single use disposable
items wherever possible to ensure safety. We strictly observe
all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
All instruments are cleaned, disinfected and routinely sterilized
as recommended by the American Dental Association and the Centers
for Disease Control. Handpieces (drills) are sterilized with
a state-of-the-art sterilization unit specifically designed
for this purpose. All surfaces in the treatment rooms are cleaned
and disinfected after each patient.
Oral Hygiene
Preventative dentistry is our goal for ever patient. It means
being healthy enough to come in for good check-ups and routine
cleanings. It may not be where we start with every patient,
but it's where we like to finish. An integral part of maintaining
your teeth for life is the removal of plaque and tartar on a
regular basis. The frequency of your visits is based upon your
individual needs and oral health. During your visit we will
update your medical history, perform an oral cancer screening
exam, check your teeth for cavities, review oral hygiene instructions,
and monitor your periodontal (gum) condition.
Emergencies
Emergencies can occur at any time. During non-office hours,
our patients of record can reach Dr. Garofalo by pager: (908)
825-0787.
